The city owned airport features a lighted east-west runway 5,000 feet long x 100 feet wide with localizer and NDB approaches. South of the terminal is a corporate hangar park with land leases available.

Daveste' Vineyards
The Vineyard Estate, planted in 2005, grows Malbec, Merlot, Chambourcin, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and the lessor know Rkatsiteli and Chouchillon. The Tasting room, which overlooks the vineyard, is a 1,500 square-foot rustic timber-frame style and is open to the public. There is also an Art Gallery, that features works by North Carolina artists throughout the year. The Vineyard and Tasting room are located off of interstates I-40 and I-77 at 155 Lytton Farm Road, Troutman, NC 28166. The Darshana Hall Plantation is comprised of two houses, the first home was built in 1753, the second was built in 1818. Three families have been building on the plantation for over four centuries This is the largest plantation in the area and is a National Historic Register Property. North Carolina Fresco Trail
Begin your journey on the Fresco Trail in Statesville, home to the Images At The Crossroads Fresco. This timely piece was crafted by Ben Long and rests just inside the Statesville Civic Center.
The Ben Long Fresco Trail let's you expeirence some of the greatest masterpieces in modern art. Fresco is the medium Michelangelo chose when he painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. The Trail will take you from Statesville to the mountains and the foothills of the Blue Ridge to the bustling streets of Charlotte, a total of 11 stops in all.
Situated in the Piedmont region of North Carolina near the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Fort Dobbs State Historic Site provides a window into the tumultuous period of history known as the French and Indian War (1754-1763) or Seven Years War. As the only state historic site associated with the period, it represents North Carolina's link with a global war for empire that crossed five continents, lasted nearly a decade and sowed the seeds for independence.
Fort Dobbs is open Tuesday-Saturday, 10-4pm and offers living history daily, living history weekends and special events.

Named for the gem found only in this area, this quaint township features Hiddenite Gems/Emerald Hollow where the largest emerald in North America weighing 1,686.3 karats was found. Governor Zebulon Vance House and Museum704-876-0376
Exit 150 (Hwy 115 South), I-40 501 West Sharpe Street
Built approx. 1832-1860, this Greek Revival two-story frame house is one of the oldest structures in Statesville. In 1865 it served as headquarters for Governor Zebulon Vance during his exile from the state capitol during the last months of the Civil War. The house is now operated as a museum by the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
