Manufactured or Doublewide sometimes called Trailers and Modular Homes are built in a very similar manner.
The main difference is underneath in the in the frame. A Manufactured Home has the metal frame left on and has peers in the center of the home as part of its support system. A Modular Home sometimes called a "True Off Frame Modular Home is lifted off the metal frame and installed on a perimeter foundation much as a site built home is.
Manufactured Homes are typically more diffficult to get financed. Especially Land Home Packages
